Materials: Thermoformed Acrylic, Ink, Copper, Enamel
Dimensions: 6"x6"x4"

Cherie A Fanning
Urbana, IL. USA

Using nature as a reference, my art creates manufactured environments. Through these new environments, I take the ephemeral and make it more durable. My process mimics and extends the natural cycle of my references. The materials used are part or derived from the cycle of life, death, decay, and re-appropriation. I use plastics, mineral spirits, and other fossil fuel derivatives from the cycle to form the work. In doing so, I act as both creator and destroyer - problem and solution.
